CAN bids farewell to national women's cricket team for Rwanda tour

Kathmandu. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has bid farewell to the national women's cricket team, which is set to participate in the ICC Women's Challenge Trophy in Rwanda. The team was sent off during a program held on Wednesday.

CAN has announced a strong 14-member squad for the tournament under the captaincy of Indu Barma. The responsibility of vice-captain has been given to young player Puja Mahato. The Nepali team maintains a balance of experienced and new players.

Other members of the team include Bindu Rawal, Ruby Poddar, Samjhana Khadka, Kabita Joshi, Riya Sharma, Roma Thapa, and Kabita Kunwar. Similarly, Suman Bist, Anu Kadayat, Manisha Upadhyaya, Rachana Chaudhary, and experienced player and former captain Rubina Chhetri have also secured their spots in the team. According to CAN spokesperson Chumbi Lama, this team will represent Nepal in the important tournament to be held in Rwanda.

This Challenge Trophy is considered very important for the Nepali women's team, which is looking to make its mark at the international level. With the support of experienced players and the enthusiasm of the youth, the Nepali team is preparing to take the field with the goal of improving its ICC ranking through this tournament.
