Samrat Choudhary Sworn In as Bihar Chief Minister

Kathmandu. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Samrat Choudhary took the oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar on Wednesday. With this, Nitish Kumar, who has held significant influence in state politics for a long time, has been ousted from power.

Before the decision to move to the Rajya Sabha, Samrat Choudhary arrived at the Bihar Lok Bhawan, the Governor's residence, in the morning as the successor to Nitish Kumar, who led Bihar for over a decade. There, Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath of office to him.

Following Nitish Kumar's resignation, Choudhary has become the first BJP Chief Minister of Bihar. After the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) registered a historic victory in the 2025 assembly elections, he had taken the oath as Chief Minister for a record 10th time.
