Jos Buttler Regains Form in IPL 2026 Following World Cup Struggles

Kathmandu. Gujarat Titans wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler has returned to his vintage form in the IPL 2026. Criticized for his poor performance in the T–20 World Cup 2026, Buttler has silenced his critics with stellar batting in the opening matches of the IPL.

Buttler, who scored only 87 runs in 8 innings during the World Cup, contributed 38 against Punjab, 26 against Rajasthan, and 52 against Delhi in the IPL. By scoring 60 runs in his latest match, he also completed the 100th half-century of his T–20 career.

Speaking after the match, Buttler mentioned that taking some time away from cricket and reflecting on his weaknesses helped him regain his rhythm. Buttler revealed that Gujarat's batting coach Matthew Hayden played a significant role in his comeback.

‘Hayden asked me in the very first session if it seemed like I wasn't watching the ball properly,’ said Buttler. He acknowledged that such simple yet effective advice from a legendary player helped him fix his technical issues. Buttler, who has been playing cricket for 15 years, stated that he is now focusing more on his setup and ball tracking.

Additionally, Buttler noted that the support of his family has helped him remain free from the pressure of the game.
