Legendary Director Tulsi Ghimire's Film 'Pahad' Premieres in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. The film 'Pahad', directed by legendary director Tulsi Ghimire, has premiered. The premiere, held on Sunday at Big Movies in Kamalpokhari, saw a significant turnout of film personalities and journalists, including senior actors Nir Shah, Saroj Khanal, Shiva Shrestha, Rejina Upreti, Jitu Nepal, Deepa Shree Niroula, Krishna Malla, Sharmila Malla, Ramesh Upreti, and Kiran KC.

Most attendees at the premiere expressed positive feedback about the film. Scheduled for public release on Tuesday (Baishakh 1) to coincide with the New Year, the film features performances by Bipin Karki, Sunil Thapa, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Renunath Yogi, Arun Chhetri, Rabindra Singh Baniya, and Uma Giri.

Written by director Ghimire himself, the film depicts the social and economic issues arising from the depopulation of hills as youth migrate abroad. Produced under the banner of Bhagya Ratna Films Pvt. Ltd., the film marks the acting debut of the director's youngest daughter, Panchami Ghimire.

The film features music by Ranjit Singh Gajmer and is presented by Uttam Rasaili. The producers are Surendra Lama Thing, Ojaswi KC, Rimpoche Lama Thing, and Uma Giri. The film will be distributed in Nepal by Venkatesh Entertainment and internationally by Seven Seas International Films.
