Election for Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives underway

Kathmandu. The election for the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives is currently underway. The election was confirmed after the proposers of the two candidates, Ruby Kumari Thakur and Saraswati Lama, refused to withdraw their candidacies. 

Thakur is the candidate from the Labour Culture Party, while Lama represents the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. In the House of Representatives meeting, Lama's proposer, MP Gyan Bahadur Shahi, and Thakur's proposer, Aryan Rai, stated that they would not withdraw their candidates. 

The voting process is currently in progress.
