Government Directs Health Facilities to Ensure Service Continuity During Two-Day Weekend

Kathmandu. In light of the government's implementation of a two-day public holiday on Saturdays and Sundays, authorities have been directed to make alternative arrangements to ensure the continuous and effective delivery of health services.

The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed hospitals to operate outpatient services on Sundays based on their workload and available manpower. In doing so, hospitals are directed to provide staff with two days off, including Saturday, or to offer compensatory leave if providing two days off is not feasible, ensuring that service delivery remains uninterrupted.

The Federal Ministry of Health has also requested provincial hospitals and the health ministries of all seven provinces to implement these measures accordingly.
