Weather Update: Partial Influence of Westerly Low-Pressure System Across Nepal

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of a westerly low-pressure system and local winds. As a result, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country are experiencing generally cloudy conditions, while the Terai region remains partly cloudy.

This afternoon, the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will be generally cloudy, while the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi and the remaining hilly and mountainous areas will be partly cloudy. The weather in the rest of the Terai region will remain mainly clear.

There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province and the mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Strong winds are also expected in a few places in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province will be generally cloudy, while the mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces will be partly cloudy. The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
