Five arrested for assaulting youths in Kathmandu's Gokarneshwor

Kathmandu. Police have arrested five individuals for assaulting two youths in Gokarneshwor, Kathmandu. A video of the assault, which took place in front of the Naya Basti Club in Gokarneshwor Municipality-5 on Chaitra 17, went viral on social media.

The victims, 17-year-old Manoj Tamang and 18-year-old Karma Lama, both residents of Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality-4, Sindhupalchok, were targeted by the attackers.

SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, confirmed to Ratopati that the five individuals involved in the assault were arrested a few days ago.

The arrested individuals are 19-year-old Nishan Dulal from Bethanchok, Kavre; 19-year-old Raj Kumar BK from Dolakha; 18-year-old Rajesh BK from Sailung, Dolakha; 18-year-old Suman Thing from Thori, Parsa; and 18-year-old Unique Pudasaini from Nuwakot.

The police have obtained a remand to investigate the accused under the charge of indecent behavior.
