Three Arrested for Foreign Employment Fraud in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Police have arrested three individuals for allegedly defrauding people by promising them lucrative foreign employment opportunities. A special team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, apprehended the suspects from various locations.

The arrested individuals are Narendra Bahadur Dhamena from Bajhang, currently residing in Lalitpur; Darshana Bhandari from Kailali, residing in Lalitpur; and Raju Prasad Kushwaha from Rautahat, residing in Bhaktapur. According to police, 21-year-old Narendra swindled 400,000 rupees from three victims under the pretext of sending them to Bulgaria.

Similarly, 27-year-old Darshana took 600,000 rupees from a victim promising employment in Greece, while 50-year-old Raju Prasad went incommunicado after collecting 4,516,891 rupees from an individual with the promise of sending them to the UK. Police launched an investigation after the victims filed complaints.

Narendra was arrested on Tuesday from Bhote Bahal, Kathmandu, while Darshana and Raju Prasad were apprehended on Wednesday from Mahalaxmi, Lalitpur, and Durbarmarg, Kathmandu, respectively. Further investigation is required into their activities of collecting large sums of money under the guise of foreign employment.

All three suspects have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal for further legal action and investigation.
