CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli Released After 13 Days in Custody

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated that he was released after authorities failed to provide sufficient grounds or evidence to pursue a criminal case against him.

He expressed gratitude to those who advocated for his release, noting that the government had kept him in illegal detention for 13 days based on biased and retaliatory criminal charges.

He also expressed his appreciation to the police administration for their humane treatment while he was in custody and to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital staff for their dedicated medical care.

Furthermore, Oli wished for the speedy recovery of those injured during the protests demanding his release. He demanded that the state cover their medical expenses, adding that if the state remains indifferent, his party will bear the costs.

Oli also announced that he will remain in the hospital for a few more days to continue his treatment due to his poor health condition.
