Traffic halted on Butwal-Narayangadh road due to heavy rain

Nawalparasi. Transportation services have been obstructed on the Butwal-Narayangadh road due to rainfall. The Daunne section in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), along the East-West Highway, is completely blocked due to mud and slippery conditions.

Superintendent of Police Yubraj Khadka of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), stated that traffic is obstructed as vehicles are 'stuck' on the muddy and slippery road near Ghiukhola and the Bishwokarma Temple in Daunne. The continuous rain since Wednesday afternoon has caused the road to become muddy and slippery, leading to traffic congestion.

“Due to the continuous light rain since yesterday afternoon, vehicles are struggling to navigate the Daunne incline, and vehicles are getting stuck in the mud,” he said. “Freight vehicles are currently being held in the Arun Khola area.”

The Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project stated that efforts are underway to repair the Daunne section by laying gravel following the traffic disruptions caused by the rain. As construction work on the Daunne section under the Butwal-Narayangadh road expansion project remains incomplete, the road frequently becomes obstructed even during light rainfall.
