Nepal Weather Update: Western Disturbance and Local Winds Bring Rain and Snow

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds. As a result, the entire country is experiencing generally cloudy conditions. 

This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, including Koshi Province, will remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will see partial cloud cover. There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in some areas of the hilly and mountainous regions, including Koshi Province, and in a few places in Madhesh Province.

Tonight, the mountainous regions of the country, including Koshi Province, will remain generally cloudy, while other hilly areas will see partial cloud cover, and the weather in the Terai region will remain mainly clear. 

The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by lightning in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in the remaining mountainous regions.
