British Ambassador Delivers PM Starmer's Congratulatory Letter to PM Balen Shah

Kathmandu. British Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, has handed over a congratulatory letter sent by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah. Ambassador Fenn delivered the letter during a collective meeting with ambassadors on Wednesday.

While handing over the letter, Ambassador Fenn stated that the UK appreciates Nepal's democratic resurgence. He conveyed the message that the UK wishes to support the new momentum and pace created under Prime Minister Balen's leadership.

In his letter, British Prime Minister Starmer congratulated Balen on his election as Prime Minister and recalled the long-standing friendship between Nepal and the UK. He noted that both countries share common interests in shared priorities such as economic growth, climate resilience, and security.

Stating that the relationship between the two countries has now transformed into a thriving and modern partnership, Starmer sent a message that he is committed to further deepening this friendship as Nepal enters a new era. The British Prime Minister also expressed a commitment to further collaboration with a democratic, prosperous, and resilient Nepal to fulfill shared security and prosperity interests.

Expressing pride in the people-to-people ties between the two nations, Starmer wrote in the letter that he looks forward to working with Prime Minister Balen on the next chapter of the valuable friendship and cooperation between Nepal and the UK.
