President Ramchandra Paudel to Address Joint Session of Federal Parliament on Chaitra 27

Kathmandu. President Ramchandra Paudel is scheduled to address a joint session of both houses of the Federal Parliament on Friday, Chaitra 27. Spokesperson for the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Joint Secretary Ekram Giri, confirmed that the President's address is set for 3:00 PM on Chaitra 27. 

‘We have just received a letter from the Office of the President. It states that he will address the joint session at 3:00 PM on Chaitra 27 and has requested the necessary arrangements to be made,’ spokesperson Giri told Ratopati.

The Office of the President stated that President Paudel is addressing the joint session upon the recommendation of the government. 

Article 95 of the Constitution outlines the provisions regarding the President's address. Under the heading ‘Address by the President,’ it states, ‘The President may address a sitting of either House or a joint sitting of both Houses of the Federal Parliament and summon the members for that purpose.’
