Fugitive wanted in citizenship fraud case arrested in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Police have apprehended a defendant who had been on the run for a long time in connection with a citizenship-related criminal case.

The arrested individual is 59-year-old Babunan Chaudhary Kalwar, a native of Rautahat currently residing in Kuleshwor, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14. He was arrested by a police team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, from Kalanki on Monday.

The District Court, Gaur, Rautahat, had issued an arrest warrant against Babunan on 2082 Bhadra 2 in a citizenship-related criminal case. Following the court order, he had been absconding until police, acting on specific intelligence, located and took him into custody in the Kalanki area.

The arrested Chaudhary has been sent to the District Police Office, Rautahat, for further investigation and necessary legal action.
