Kalika Municipality Proposes Strategic Partnership with Fairfax City, USA

Kathmandu. Kalika Municipality of Chitwan has proposed a collaboration with Fairfax City in Virginia, USA, focusing on implementing a GPS-based house numbering system, waste management, healthcare, education, and infrastructure development.

Kalika Municipality Mayor Binod Regmi, currently on a visit to the United States, presented the proposal to Fairfax City Mayor Catherine Read. Mayor Regmi stated that both municipalities have agreed to foster a sustainable relationship moving forward.

During the visit, Mayor Regmi explored Fairfax City's technological advancements and development models to exchange experiences. Mayor Regmi said, "I have proposed collaboration on the GPS-based house numbering system currently being implemented in Kalika Municipality, as well as in waste management, health, education, and infrastructure construction. We have received a positive response and I am confident that collaboration will take place in the near future."

He further noted that an agreement has been reached to expand a sustainable partnership between the two municipalities. Mayor Catherine has committed to visiting Nepal with her team at an appropriate time. The program was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Ramhari Subedi.
