Three Arrested for Rape Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Police have arrested three individuals on charges of rape in various parts of the country. According to police, the suspects were taken into custody following complaints of sexual assault against young women and a minor in Kailali, Kapilvastu, and Okhaldhunga.

In Kailali, 30-year-old Kasim Ali Jaga, a resident of Lamkichuha Municipality-8, Sonpur, was arrested on Tuesday night for allegedly raping a 27-year-old woman. Following the complaint, a police team from the Area Police Office, Tikapur, took him into custody.

Similarly, 25-year-old Chandan Tiwari, a resident of Shivraj Municipality-5, Galaxy Tole, Kapilvastu, has been arrested for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl. A team from the Ward Police Office, Chandrauta, apprehended Tiwari on Tuesday evening after a complaint was filed.

In Okhaldhunga, one person has been arrested for the alleged rape of a 20-year-old woman. The suspect is 49-year-old Chunchun Sah Kanu, a native of Dewahi Gonahi Municipality-6, Rautahat. He was taken into custody by police from the Temporary Police Post, Ketuke, on Tuesday afternoon.

The respective district police offices have initiated legal proceedings and further investigations into all three cases.
