CPN-UML Acting Chair Thapa Criticizes Vice-Chair Paudel Amid Internal Party Friction

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Acting Chairman and Parliamentary Party leader Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal' has directed sharp criticism toward party Vice-Chair Bishnu Prasad Paudel regarding internal party conflicts.

Addressing a large gathering of party workers organized by CPN-UML Kaski in Pokhara on Wednesday, leader Badal stated that his address in Parliament, delivered in his capacity as the parliamentary party leader, had successfully 'exposed' enemies of the nation, external forces, and those within the party.

Badal highlighted the internal struggle by referencing a social media post made by Vice-Chair Bishnu Paudel following his parliamentary remarks. 'Following my address as the party leader in the first parliamentary session, the central secretariat held a meeting and issued a statement,' Badal said. 'That statement created further confusion. It appears that the statement created confusion even within the party regarding the position I had taken as the leader.'

In response to the views expressed by Badal in the House of Representatives last Thursday, Vice-Chair Paudel had written on Facebook that the secretariat would make an appropriate decision. However, Thapa asserted that the views he expressed in Parliament were in line with the party's established policies and principles.

'Those who were agitated by that statement have revealed their true colors. That statement merely exposed the right-wing tendencies within the party,' Badal added. 'I spoke in the House in line with the party's stance and firmly implemented party decisions. It was a major attack on the enemies of the country and the people, as well as an attack on the hidden right-wingers.'
