Khagendra Neupane Appointed Coordinator of NRNA Foreign Employment Task Force

Kathmandu. Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Senior Vice President Khagendra Neupane has been appointed as the coordinator of the Foreign Employment Task Force. Following the decision of the 114th ICC meeting of the association, he has been entrusted with this significant responsibility for the 2025–2027 term.

The association has tasked Neupane with enhancing policy reforms related to foreign employment, protecting migrant worker rights, and strengthening international coordination. To achieve this, he stated that he would prepare a comprehensive action plan, form a team comprising skilled and experienced members, and work toward result-oriented outcomes in collaboration with authorities in destination countries and Nepali diplomatic missions.

Upon assuming the role, Neupane committed to prioritizing the safety, dignity, and rights of Nepali workers abroad. He emphasized that the task force would address critical issues such as labor exploitation, unsafe working conditions, low wages, and legal complexities. According to him, the task force will not only coordinate with the Government of Nepal for policy-level improvements but also work toward making labor agreements with destination countries more effective.

Within the diaspora community, Neupane's appointment is viewed as a move toward experienced, collaborative, and result-oriented leadership. Having been active in the diaspora for a long time, he is expected to achieve concrete results by focusing specifically on the foreign employment sector.

His action plan also includes the goal of strengthening unity within the NRNA and amplifying the collective voice of Nepalis worldwide.

With this appointment, the NRNA has signaled an intensification of structural and policy interventions to resolve issues in the foreign employment sector, which is expected to have a positive impact on the lives and futures of millions of Nepali workers.
