Pakistan and Egypt Facilitating Communication Between Iran and the US

Tehran. Pakistan and Egypt are facilitating communication between Iran and the United States. CNN reported on Sunday, citing sources familiar with Pakistani officials, that the two countries are coordinating these efforts.

The report comes as US President Donald Trump has set a new deadline for Iran to open passage through the Strait of Hormuz. In an interview with Axios on Sunday, he stated that his special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are engaged in talks with Iran.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on social media on Saturday that Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi.

During the conversation, Dar reiterated Pakistan's full support for all efforts to de-escalate tensions, emphasizing that problems should be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic means. He also highlighted the need for all parties to exercise restraint to maintain regional stability.
