Dol Prasad Aryal Elected Unopposed as Speaker of the House of Representatives

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Dol Prasad Aryal (DP) has been elected unopposed as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Senior member Arjun Narsingh KC, who was presiding over the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, announced that Aryal had been elected as Speaker. 

Aryal's candidacy for Speaker was proposed by Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman and House of Representatives member Rabi Lamichhane. 

The proposal was seconded by Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, and Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Minister of Urban Development Sunil Lamsal.

Rastriya Swatantra Party founder Aryal was directly elected from Kathmandu-9. He was serving as the party's Vice-Chairman.
