Supreme Court Issues Show Cause Notice in Habeas Corpus Petitions for Khadka and Sharma

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued a show cause notice regarding the habeas corpus petitions filed for former minister and Congress leader Deepak Khadka and UML Lumbini Province Assembly member Rekha Sharma.

On Wednesday, a bench led by Supreme Court Justice Shrikant Paudel ordered the government to submit the reasons for their arrests.

The habeas corpus petitions were filed by Binita Khadka on behalf of former minister Khadka, and Chintamani Sharma on behalf of Rekha Sharma. Former minister Khadka was arrested on Sunday for investigation into money laundering.

UML Lumbini Province Assembly member Sharma is accused of committing a crime against a child by employing a minor as a domestic worker.
