Former Nepali Congress President Deuba and Dr. Shekhar Koirala Faction to Hold Central Working Committee Meeting

Kathmandu. The Central Working Committee meeting of the faction led by former Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Dr. Shekhar Koirala is scheduled to convene today. The Central Committee meeting, formed from the 14th General Convention, has been called.

‘The Central Working Committee meeting from the 14th General Convention has been called,’ said Laxmi Khatiwada, a member of the former Central Working Committee. ‘The meeting will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday in Maharajgunj.’

Former Central Working Committee members stated that the Chief Secretary of the former Congress Central Office, Krishna Prasad Paudel, has been informing leaders via telephone to attend the meeting.

Laxmi informed that contemporary politics and the writ petition filed by them in the Supreme Court will be discussed in the meeting. The hearing date for the writ filed in the Supreme Court has been set for Chaitra 22.

The Deuba-Shekhar faction initiated parallel activities after the Election Commission granted official recognition to the new leadership elected by the Special General Convention held last Poush. Following the arrest of former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Khadka, acting as the acting president, issued a statement initiating parallel activities.
