Bengali Actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee Drowns During Shoot in Odisha

Kolkata. Renowned Bengali cinema actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee has tragically drowned during a shooting session at the Talsari beach in Odisha. Rahul lost his life in this accident which occurred while filming the television show ‘Bhole Baba Par Karega’, while his co-actress Shweta Mishra was rescued alive.

Initial investigation into the incident has revealed the serious fact that the film's production team did not obtain any permission from the local administration for the shooting, nor did they inform them. According to the Superintendent of Police in Balasore, Odisha, Rahul and Shweta were filming a scene where they were dancing in knee-deep water around 5:30 PM. The accident occurred when they suddenly fell into a sea trench during that sequence.

Although the production team immediately rushed him to Digha Hospital, doctors could not save him. Police have stated that further legal action is being initiated jointly by the Talsari and Digha police because the shooting did not have permission. However, the deceased's co-artist Dingata Bagchi claimed that Rahul went into the sea alone after the shoot was over, but the police maintain that the accident happened during the shooting.

Following this incident, actor Rahul's wife and actress Priyanka Sarkar appealed on social media for respect for her family's privacy and sensitivity. She mentioned that this time is very difficult for her family, young child, and mother, urging the media not to interfere unnecessarily and to allow them to mourn in peace.
