Nepal Football Coach Aims for Victory Against Laos in Final AFC Asian Cup Qualifier

Kathmandu. Nepali national football team coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese has stated that they will take the field aiming for a win against Laos.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of their final match on Tuesday under the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, Annese said, 'We have come to Laos with a balance of young and experienced players. My goal is to test the young players. That's why I have given five players their first opportunity in the national team. Laos is a good team. But we are ready for tomorrow's game. We will take the field with the goal of winning.'

Annese has included Yuvraj Khadka, Pemba Dorje Lama, Roman Bhujel, Milan Rai, and Yogesh Dhimal in the squad for the first time. Similarly, Nepal's captain Kiran Chemjong also stated that securing a victory would be the main objective.

'Once we step onto the field, the main goal will be to secure a win. We have prepared well. We will perform according to the coach's strategy.' The match between Nepal and Laos will start at 7 PM local time. Both teams, placed in Group 'F' of the tournament, have already been eliminated from the race for the AFC Asian Cup. Both teams have secured three points after playing five matches each.

So far, Nepal and Laos have played six matches against each other, with Nepal winning four, Laos winning one, and one match ending in a draw. In their last encounter during the AFC Cup Qualifiers last year, Nepal was defeated 2-1.
