Twelve Injured in Three-Vehicle Collision on East-West Highway in Nawalparasi

Nawalparasi. Twelve people were injured when three vehicles collided with each other in Gaindakot, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), along the East-West Highway.

District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) Police Superintendent Yuvraj Khadka stated that the accident occurred this morning near Hanuman Mandir in Gaindakot Municipality-9 when a bus with license plate LuPra01-001Kha 0910, traveling from Nepalgunj towards Kathmandu, hit a pickup van with license plate BaPra01-028Cha 5004 heading from Gaindakot to Bhedabari, and a truck with license plate Ba3Kha 3163 traveling in the same direction.

Police Superintendent Khadka informed that among those injured in the accident were the truck driver, 32-year-old Indra Tamang, a resident of Khandadevi Rural Municipality-4, Ramechhap; the pickup driver, 33-year-old Darshan Kapri, a resident of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-12, Chitwan; and the bus driver, 41-year-old Mohansingh Balami Magar, a resident of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-20, Banke.

Additionally, nine other passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries. The injured have been taken to Chitwan for treatment. Police have reported that traffic operations have now returned to normal.
