Western Low-Pressure System and Local Winds Affecting Nepal's Weather

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology has stated that a western low-pressure system along with the influence of local winds is currently affecting Nepal. Due to this influence, the weather is generally cloudy across the country. Moderate rainfall and snowfall are occurring in some parts of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country will generally experience cloudy skies, while the remaining areas will have partial cloud cover. There is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country.

Tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, along with the mountainous regions of the remaining provinces, will generally be cloudy. The remaining hilly regions will have partial cloud cover, while the Terai region will remain mainly clear.  

The Department has indicated a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, as well as the mountainous regions of Bagmati province.
