Head teacher shot at

 

Dhanusha - A school head teacher has been shot at while he was on way to school today.  

Fifty-year-old Narendra Kumar Sharma, head teacher at Bilatsaha Sarvodaya Secondary School, Sinurjoda, Laxminiya Rural Municipality in the district was shot at by two motorcycle-borne unidentified assailants, police said. 

Sharma came under fire on the road to the west of local Laxminiya Chok at 6.30 am when he was heading towards the school from his house at Janakpur Sub-metropolitan City-7. 

Sharma has sustained bullet injuries to his cheek and is said to be in serious condition. He has been admitted to the Janakpur Zonal Hospital for treatment. 

Superintendent of Police at Dhanusha District Police Office, Lalmani Acharya said investigation is on in this connection. Arrangements are being made to airlift Sharma to Kathmandu for further treatment, it is learnt.
