Veterinary Hospital in Baitadi Operating Without a Doctor for 17 Months, Affecting Local Farmers

Baitadi. Local livestock farmers are facing hardship as the Veterinary Hospital and Animal Service Expert Center in Patan has been without a doctor for 17 months.

According to Gumani Datta Pant, the head of the center, treatment has become problematic due to the lack of a doctor. The center became doctorless after the contract doctor resigned.

Although there is a sanctioned post for one veterinarian at the center, the service delivery is facing difficulties because the Sudurpaschim Provincial Government has been unable to fill the position, Center Head Pant stated. Seriously ill animals require calling a doctor from Dhangadhi for treatment.
