Sauraha to Host 20th Edition of Food Festival in Chitwan This Chaitra

Chitwan. The 20th edition of the 'Food Festival' will be held in the tourist city of Sauraha on Chaitra 12, 13, and 14. The Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REWAN) Sauraha has informed that preparations for the festival have reached the final stage.

REWAN General Secretary Navin Nepal informed that the festival is being organized at Chhatri Street in Gaurachok, Sauraha. Embracing the core spirit of 'Natural Beauty, The Specialty of Chitwan Sauraha,' the festival aims to promote domestic and international tourism.

The previously scheduled program for the occasion of Valentine's Day was postponed due to election activities. Festival Coordinator Krishna Prasad Khatiwada stated that the new date was set considering the potential impact on security, participation, and management.

The Sauraha Food Festival, which has been organized continuously for nineteen years, has significantly contributed to the tourism development of Chitwan. This year's edition is expected to revitalize the sluggish tourism business and bring new enthusiasm to local entrepreneurs and the community.

The main attractions of the festival will include multi-ethnic tableau presentations, musical programs by national and local artists, exhibition and competition of local and tribal foods, as well as a 'Waiter-Waitress' competition, Coordinator Khatiwada informed.

It is estimated that the festival will cost NPR 6 million, and the organizers expect a turnover of approximately NPR 10 million during the festival period. The organizers estimate that about five thousand tourists will visit daily.
