US Postpones Strikes on Iranian Infrastructure After Alleged Talks, Iran Denies Negotiations

Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump announced a five-day suspension of attacks against Iranian energy infrastructure following what he described as productive talks with Tehran. However, Iran has denied that any such talks took place.

This suspension notice reportedly came after Trump threatened to destroy all Iranian infrastructure if Iran did not fully open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.

Iran has rejected claims of peace talks, stating that the conflict situation remains active. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, suggested that Tehran is not yet ready for talks with Washington.

Ghalibaf mentioned that the Iranian people are demanding punishment for the aggressors in response to Trump's comments. Confirming that no talks were held with the United States, he stated that Trump's latest attempt was merely an excuse to facilitate financial and oil markets and ease the situation.

Iran's Fars News Agency stated there was no contact with Trump, while the Foreign Ministry indicated that Trump's comments were an attempt to lower energy prices and balance the market for military planning.
