Man Arrested in Kathmandu with Stolen Motorcycle, License Plate Altered

Kathmandu. Nikhil Balami, 20, from Nuwakot, has been arrested in the Bypass area of Kathmandu in possession of a stolen motorcycle. Balami, a resident of Lolang in Kathmandu, originally hailing from Kakani Rural Municipality-1, Nuwakot, was taken into custody by the Traffic Police on Monday.

He was apprehended by the police while operating the motorcycle after altering its original license plate, which was Bagmati Province 02-028 P 8408, to Bagmati Province 02-039 P 9454. The motorcycle was reported stolen from the residence of Jayaram KC of Godawari Municipality-10, Bohoratar, Lalitpur.

KC had filed a missing report at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office requesting assistance in locating his motorcycle. According to Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Balami, who was caught with the motorcycle, has been sent to the Chapa Gaun Police Circle for further investigation and legal action.
