Iranian Parliament Speaker Denies Reports of Secret Talks with US Officials

Kathmandu. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf has refuted reports claiming any kind of talks with US officials. Ghalibaf denied these claims via the social media platform X after various news outlets asserted that he held secret talks with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Previously, various international news agencies, citing sources, had published reports claiming that former US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were in talks with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf.

However, a post issued from the X handle bearing Ghalibaf's name clarified that no talks took place with US officials.

The post alleged that such fake news was spread to influence the oil market. Furthermore, the post stated, 'The Iranian people demand full and repentant punishment for the aggressors.'
