Sudurpashchim Province Defeats Karnali Province by 4 Wickets in Prime Minister's Cup Cricket Tournament

Kathmandu. Sudurpashchim Province defeated Karnali Province by 4 wickets in the sixth match of the Prime Minister's Cup Cricket Tournament. In the match held on Monday at the Narayani Cricket Ground in Birgunj, Sudurpashchim chased down the target of 120 runs set by Karnali in 29.2 overs, losing 6 wickets.

Kiran Thagunna was the top scorer for the team, contributing 26 runs off 46 balls, which included 3 fours. Khadak Bohara added 23 runs off 39 balls, hitting 1 four.

Towards the end of the innings, Milan Bohora guided the team to victory, scoring 18 runs off 27 balls. Captain Sher Malla made 10 runs off 11 balls. 

Earlier, Karnali Province, after losing the toss and opting to bat first, managed to score only 119 runs for all out in 32 overs. Hemanta Dhami delivered a lethal spell to restrict Karnali, taking 6 wickets, conceding only 16 runs in 7 overs, including 1 maiden.

Bipin Rawal was the highest scorer for Karnali, contributing 33 runs off 61 balls, including 3 fours. Similarly, Sunil Dhamala scored 28 runs off 31 balls, hitting 3 fours and 1 six.

Arbin Gharti scored 13 runs, but no other batter from Karnali managed to reach double digits. For Sudurpashchim Province, Captain Sher Malla, Narayan Joshi, Ashok Dhami, and Milan Bohora each took 1 wicket. 

With this victory, Sudurpashchim Province secured 2 points from their first match. Karnali, on the other hand, has accumulated 1 point from two matches, as their first game ended in a no-result.
