Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov Accuses US of Strategizing to Dominate Global Energy Market

Moscow. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the United States is strategizing to establish its dominance in the global energy market. Speaking in an interview, he said, "The United States only looks after its own interests. They are ready to take any measure to preserve their prosperity, whether it involves staging a coup in a foreign country, kidnapping or assassinating leaders. All these actions are directly related to oil and energy resources."

Minister Lavrov stated that the US has always adopted a policy of placing its national interests above international rules and agreements. He said, "The United States has always welcomed and continues to pursue the limitation of Russia from the European energy market."

He further clarified that for the US to cooperate with Russia, it must first respect Russia's interests. Lavrov emphasized, "Long-term cooperation between the two countries is possible only on the basis of equal and mutual interests."

In this interview, Lavrov criticized the energy policies of the US and other Western countries, stating that there is a problem with the balance of power in the current global energy market. He indicated that attempts to challenge the independence and ownership of countries with natural resources have the potential to increase international tension.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov also wanted to alert the international community on this matter so that a just approach is adopted in the utilization of energy resources and market management.
