93 Traffic Accidents Reported in Karnali Province During Falgun Month, Resulting in 8 Fatalities

Surkhet. A total of 93 traffic accidents occurred in Karnali Province throughout the month of Falgun.

According to the Nepal Police Highway Security and Traffic Management Office, Surkhet, 8 people lost their lives in these accidents. Those who died include 7 men, 1 woman, and 1 child. Additionally, 160 people were injured in the accidents, with 64 sustaining serious injuries.

According to Police Deputy Superintendent Hari Bahadur Bisi, Information Officer at the Police Highway Security and Traffic Management Office, Surkhet, the accidents were caused by driver negligence in 68 cases, driver incompetence in 6 cases, and other reasons such as improper parking.

During this one-month period, traffic police inspected 78,839 vehicles in Karnali.

During the traffic checking, 1,431 vehicles were penalized, resulting in the collection of 1.308 million in revenue.
