NC's 'shadow government' in Rukum starts monitoring dev programmes

Rukum – The Nepali Congress 'shadow government' in Rukum has started monitoring of development undertaken by the local governments. The shadow government recently took stock of infrastructure development projects implemented at various parts under the Banfikot Rural Municipality.

The surveillance aims to avert possible corruption and irregularities in the name of development, said shadow government Chief Harka Singh Khatri. 

Preliminary information is that irregularities were reported in bridge, road, drinking water and school building construction projects. 

Complaint has been received that formation of local users' committees regarding almost all local projects took place unilaterally.
