Private schools in Chitwan shut down due to banda

Chitwan –Private schools in Chitwan districts have been shut down today after All Nepal National Independent Students Union –Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) close to Nepal Communist Party led by Biplov called for indefinite band (closure) from today. 


The closure was called in protest of the arrest of AANISU-R's students leaders by police. The private educational institutions have remained closed while the community schools have been running their classes unabated. 


Issuing a press release, AANISU-R's Chitwan district coordinator Darpan demanded earliest release of AANISU-R's District President Ramesh Lamichhane and its member Saroj Bhattarai who were arrested from Shahid Memorial Multiple Campus at Ratnanagar and Madi Multiple Campus in the district respectively. 


According to the press release, the student leader duos were nabbed from their classes without having any legal ground to their arrests. 


"The indefinite shut down will continue until the arrested ones are released," reads the press release. 
Chief District Officer Jitendra Basnet however said all the education institutions were asked to run their classes. He ensured that the security mechanism would be put in place to enable environment for academic activities and security.
