Police Arrest 14 Individuals for Illegal Gambling in Kathmandu Apartment

Fourteen people have been taken into custody by police while gambling in an apartment located in the heart of Kathmandu.

The group, including 58-year-old Jeevan Khadka from Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-2, was apprehended from Room Number 206 of the Landmark Apartment in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-1. A special team deployed from the Durbar Marg Police Circle caught them red-handed while they were gambling on Sunday night.

Police seized NPR 360,000 in cash and 15 decks of playing cards from the gambling den. Police acted on a tip-off that a group was gambling with large stakes in a rented apartment.

Police stated that all those arrested are being held in custody for further investigation, and legal proceedings under the Gambling Act will be initiated against them.
