Iran Arrests 20 Individuals Accused of Espionage for Israel

Tehran. Iran has arrested 20 people on charges of acting as informants for Israel. These individuals were apprehended in Iran's northwestern West Azerbaijan province.

According to the official news agency Tasnim News Agency, citing a statement issued by the local prosecutor's office, they are accused of attempting to cooperate with Israel.

The statement alleged that these individuals sent details regarding Iran's military, police, and security structure locations to Israel. According to the prosecutor's office, 20 people were arrested and detained under court order while taking action against mercenary networks associated with the Zionist regime.

Meanwhile, an international news agency Reuters reported last week that Israel had initiated a new phase of attacks on Iran and that security posts were targeted based on information received from ground-based informants.
