NRNA Leaders Claim Unanimous Leadership Election at 12th General Convention

Kathmandu. It has been claimed that the leadership for the 12th General Convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) will be selected unanimously. Addressing a press conference in Kathmandu on Friday, NRNA Chairmen Dr. Badri KC and Mahesh Shrestha, among others, stated that the leadership for the convention, starting from Falgun 30, will be chosen by consensus.

Chairman KC also mentioned that they are continuing efforts for consensus, aiming for unanimous selection for the chairman and other posts, and resorting to elections only if consensus cannot be reached for a few positions.

He said, 'All disagreements have been resolved. However, this is just the beginning of unity. Just as the NRNA was born, now it will be reborn. This organization will move forward by uniting all Nepalis and ensuring everyone feels ownership of the institution. A lot of groundwork has been done for this. Our previous press meet mentioned the election schedule. We probably won't hold elections. We will move forward by including all office bearers to work. Consensus has been reached between two of the three chairman candidates, and we are confident that consensus will also be reached with the third candidate. If consensus is not reached for some posts, there will be elections. But the leadership at the General Convention will be selected unanimously.'
