Students Protest Demanding Justice for Teen Allegedly Raped and Murdered in Surkhet

Students from the school where 16-year-old Inisa B.K., who was allegedly raped and murdered, studied held a street demonstration demanding justice for her.

Inisa was studying at Usha Balbatika in Birendranagar. Inisa, originally from Gurbhakot Municipality-6 Badakhola, was found unconscious on Saturday morning in the Janajagaran Community Forest, located north of Birendranagar Municipality-4.

Doctors at the Provincial Hospital pronounced her dead when she was rushed there by the police. Her body is currently at the hospital. She had been living with her family in Birendranagar Municipality-1.

The family alleges that she was murdered after being gang-raped after leaving home Saturday morning saying she was going for tuition. Police arrested a 16-year-old boy from the scene on Saturday, the day the incident occurred, Falgun 23. The individual claims to have been in a romantic relationship with Inisa.

The victim's side filed a complaint on Falgun 24. Based on that complaint, other boys aged 15, 16, and 17 have also been taken into custody for investigation, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Jung Budhathapa of the District Police Office, Surkhet.

The alleged perpetrators are also students studying at Usha Balbatika.
