Over 4,000 Votes Declared Invalid in Baglung Constituency Elections

Baglung. More than four thousand votes were declared invalid in the House of Representatives elections held on Falgun 21 in Baglung. In Baglung, which has two constituencies, 4,452 votes, or 4.63 percent, were declared invalid.

Despite voter education being provided in every village before the election, the invalid votes could not be stopped, informed Yagya Prasad Rijal, Election Officer at the District Election Office, Baglung. According to him, more votes were invalidated in Constituency No. 2 than in Constituency No. 1.

Election Officer Rijal stated that 1,871 votes were invalidated in Baglung Constituency No. 1 and 2,581 votes in Constituency No. 2.

In Constituency No. 1, out of 98,046 registered voters, 48,932 votes were cast. Of these, 47,061 votes were declared valid, which is 96.18 percent.

In Constituency No. 2, out of 95,335 registered voters, 47,207 votes were cast. Of these, 44,626 votes were declared valid, which is 94.53 percent.

According to Election Officer Rijal, instances of stamping in the wrong place on the ballot paper, stamping on more than one symbol, and submitting blank ballot papers were found.
