Trump Warns Iran of '20 Times Stronger' Military Response If It Blocks Oil Flow Through Strait of Hormuz

Tehran. US President Donald Trump has warned of an even harsher military response if Iran attempts to block oil supplies passing through the Strait of Hormuz. In a post on the social media platform Truth Social on Monday, Trump stated that if Iran takes such a step, it will be met with an attack 20 times stronger than anything it has faced before.

Trump wrote, 'If Iran takes any action to block the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, the United States will strike it 20 times harder than ever before.' He also claimed that targets easily destroyable would be hit, making it nearly impossible for Iran to recover. Trump also warned that death, fire, and destruction would rain down on Iran, though he expressed hope and prayer that such a situation would not arise.

The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the world's most critical energy routes. Approximately one-fifth of the world's seaborne crude oil passes through this waterway. Trump referred to his warning as a gift from the US to China and other countries dependent on the Hormuz route. China and other Asian nations rely on fuel imported via this waterway. However, this route has been completely shut down since the start of the conflict with Iran.

Previously, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had announced that Gulf or European countries that expel ambassadors from Israel and the US would be allowed unimpeded passage through the Strait of Hormuz starting Tuesday.
