Teaser Released for Nepali Film 'Paral Ko Aago' Highlighting Marital Strife

Kathmandu. The teaser for the film 'Paral Ko Aago' (Straw Fire), produced by Sushil Pokharel, has been released. The teaser, unveiled by the production team, depicts discord between a husband and wife.

Prakash Saput and Suhana Thapa play the roles of the husband and wife in the teaser. The husband beats his wife on the pretext of her returning late from fetching water at the public water source. When neighbors, played by Sougat Malla and his wife, try to intervene, Prakash's character tells them it's best not to get involved in other people's marital disputes.

The teaser reflects the reality of Nepali society. It attempts to present a story of Nepali society set in a rural environment, featuring traditional baskets and a hilly backdrop. The film's main actors, Suhana Thapa, Prakash Saput, and Sougat Malla, are visible in the teaser.

Inspired by Guru Prasad Mainali's immortal work 'Paral Ko Aago,' the film stars Suhana Thapa, Sougat Malla, Prakash Saput, Sirjana Adhikari, Kishor Bhandari, Jack Shrestha, Sarita Bhandari, Renu Neupane, and child artist Manjila Baniya.

The film, produced under the banner of Hari Om Cine Makers Pvt. Ltd., is directed by Laxman Sunar.

The film, financed by Sushil Pokharel, is written by Sushil Devkota. The cinematography is by Sankalpa Bhujel, choreography by Ramji Lamsal, and editing by Milan Shrestha.

The story 'Paral Ko Aago,' included in Guru Prasad Mainali's story collection 'Naso,' was previously adapted into a film 45 years ago by Pratap Subba. Producer Pokharel stated that the story has been remade in a new and excellent way without compromising the original narrative.

The film is scheduled for an all-Nepal release starting from Baisakh 11.
