Supreme Court to Hear RSP Candidate's Plea Against Candidacy Cancellation

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for the writ petition filed by Kishori Sah, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate for Dhanusha Constituency No. 1, after the Election Commission canceled his candidacy. The writ filed by Sah will be heard in the single bench of Justice Nripadhwaj Niroula.

Sah has filed the writ petition against the Election Commission, demanding that his candidacy be upheld. The Election Commission had canceled Sah's candidacy following a complaint that he was blacklisted. The website of the Credit Information Center mentions that Kishorilal Sah of Kishor Construction was blacklisted on Poush 6, 2080, and Ashoj 31, 2079. The Election Commission canceled Sah's candidacy two days before the election.  

In this constituency, the candidates are Ramchandra Mandal from CPN-UML, Ram Palatan Sah from Nepali Congress, and Matrika Prasad Yadav from CPN (Maoist Center). Although counting of votes has been completed in this constituency, the Election Commission has not published the results because the case is sub judice in the court.
