Newly Elected Representatives Expected to Convene in Under-Construction Parliament Building in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. The vote count results for the House of Representatives elections are still coming in. According to the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, preparations are underway for the meeting of the elected representatives to be held in the under-construction parliament building located in Singha Durbar.

Although the entire work on the under-construction parliament building will not be completed immediately, work is progressing rapidly so that the next House of Representatives meeting can be held in that building, the department informed.

The parliament meeting, which used to take place at the Birendra International Convention Centre in New Baneshwor, was completely damaged following an arson attack during the agitation on Bhadra 24. Due to this, necessary infrastructure construction and management are being carried out so that the meeting of the newly elected representatives can be held in the parliament building constructed inside Singha Durbar.
