NTUC election process begins

Kathmandu – The election process of Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC), close to main opposition party Nepali Congress, has begun this morning.

The election process is the part of the sixth general convention that started on June 12.
Election Officer Gopal Krishna Ghimire shared that the election process has been taken ahead by setting time from 7.00 to 8.30 for candidacy registration and from 11.30 am onward voting.

Though the election was scheduled to be held on Thursday, the delay was caused due to prolonged closed-door discussion and dispute on delegates. So, the election date has been re-set for today.

More than 100 candidates have lodged their candidature in the election for 44 posts including 17 office-bearers.

Over 1,420 delegates from across the country will use their voting rights in the election, informed NTUC Treasurer Yogendra Kumar Kunwar.
