Rastriya Swatantra Party Directs Cadres to Remain Composed Amid Election Results

Kathmandu. As election results continue to be announced, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has directed its leaders and cadres to refrain from excessive celebration on social media and other platforms and to maintain restraint.

This directive was issued in a statement on Saturday by Ramakanta Rimal, the acting chief of the party's Central Disciplinary Commission. The statement read, 'It is our duty to highly value the mandate of the people, not to take the mandate as a 'victory frenzy' with full confidence, but to remain fully loyal to responsibility and perform duties accountably.'

The commission noted with serious concern that unnecessary commentary and activities have increased across various platforms, including social media, from different ranks of the party as the vote count progresses.

The commission has directed all party members not to engage in or encourage such undesirable activities.

The RSP's Disciplinary Commission has also warned of action against those who defy the directive. The statement warned, 'The commission alerts everyone that necessary action will be taken based on the party's statute, procedures, and code of conduct if such activities are found anywhere.'

The commission reminded everyone that it is the duty of all to practice civilized and exemplary politics while protecting democratic values and norms, and urged them not to undertake any action without the party's official directive. Furthermore, cadres have been requested to exercise patience until the full election results are out.
