Biratnagar Finalizes Preparations for House of Representatives Election Amid Tight Security

Biratnagar. Biratnagar is fully geared up for the preparation of the House of Representatives election. The construction of polling and counting centers in various areas of Biratnagar is in the final stage to make the election peaceful, impartial, and orderly. Recent visuals clearly show the proactiveness of the Election Commission and the local administration.

Adarsha Secondary School, a historic educational institution in Biratnagar, has been prepared as the main counting center this time as well. Iron wire mesh has been installed in the school rooms to make the counting process dispute-free and secure.

White cloth and mats (mattresses) have been laid on the floor where the counting staff (counters) will sit. The counters will sit securely inside the wire mesh to count the ballots, while arrangements have been made for representatives of political parties and agents of candidates to sit outside the wire mesh.

This arrangement will help prevent potential clashes or incidents like ballot box snatching during the counting process.

The rooms of Adarsha School have been designated as counting sites, where preparations are also underway to install CCTV cameras for security. Preparations have also been made for voting at Janata Model Secondary School located in Ward No. 2 of Biratnagar. Sturdy bamboo barricades have been constructed in the school premises, which will facilitate voters to queue up and cast their votes.

The Voting Officers and staff have been deployed to their respective areas. The polling stations, draped in pink and white cloth, have further brightened the electoral atmosphere. A heavy presence of Nepal Police and Election Police is visible here, indicating that the security arrangement is tight.

The work of constructing polling centers has also been completed in other important areas of Biratnagar. Polling centers have also been prepared at the famous Sunsari Mai Sthan in Ward No. 10 of Biratnagar and Saraswati Secondary School in Ward No. 9.

At Sunsari Mai Sthan, bamboo enclosures have been erected in a spacious area, considering the expected rush of voters. At Saraswati School, staff have managed the arrangement for ballot boxes and secret voting booths. Staff at all these locations are present with appointment letters and election materials.

Security has been given high priority in this year's election. Security personnel are keeping a close watch around the polling stations. Understanding the security sensitivity of Biratnagar, the administration has imposed rules such as prohibiting mobile phones at polling stations and banning the sale of alcoholic beverages.
